Precious Day in the D!

Had to bring some home!πŸ₯― Latte and great conversation with one of the special women in my life who happen to call me "Aunt"πŸ’— Sinful chocolate coconut pie in the Indian Village I've said it MANY times. Blessed having married into a most wonderful family! Even more blessed with the honour of being called " AUNT" by 18 awesome nieces and nephews which was never a guarantee being an only child. Mild Winter Birding Adventures!

Up close and personal with a Cooper's Hawk! Newfound friends! The Wood Duck ...always so beautiful to see up close! Female Common Merganser Common Mergansers ♂ and♀ Female Common Goldeneye Not the greatest picture but we got a quick glimpse of a mink today! A little too far away for a crisp photo but always a neat sighting! A female Long-tailed Duck. A first for us!! Mild winter temperatures has allowed for this Ruby-Crowned Kinglet to be spotted today! Although Winter lacks colour, there are still so many beautiful natural sightings to appreciate! (98% sure) Marsh Mallow seed pods  Dinner plate size fungus! Bittersweet! One of my favourite finds! Cattails Wild Teasel An "Osage Orange" aka "Maclura Pomifera". Size of a grapefruit! Pretty heavy and firm. Fruit from a bodark tree (in the Mulberry family) Really unusual!!!
